Documentation
Back home we fax and email documentation back and forth until we have every “t” crossed and “i” dotted, including a dated Bill of Sale for the container, a Certificate of Donation, a final Commercial Invoice to replace the Proforma Invoice, the Ocean Bill of Lading, and a final inventory list.

Ship Leaves Port
The Charolette Maersk departs Tacoma with her valuable cargo—a twenty foot container with a bright new serial number, 140 bikes and several boxes of tools. We can type those bright new numbers into a website and track the progress of those bikes as they make their way half way around the world. They are estimated to arrive in Maputo about November 2nd.

In Port
They arrive in Tacoma but Port authorities won’t let the driver unload because something’s wrong with the numbers on the container, and they aren’t very nice about it! But the driver manages to unload it anyway, somewhere.
